{ nicki's portrait party }

Here's a super quick peak at Nicki's portrait party from last weekend... this was a fun one! Not only did I get to meet some amazing families and a bunch of ridiculously cute kids, but I got to see Nicki and her boys again! Score!

Thanks again for hosting, Nicki. You have some great friends :-)

Happy holiday weekend!!!

{ mary + lorenzo are engaged! }

When I first met Mary and Lorenzo I was immediately struck by what a gorgeous couple they made. Then after chatting for a while I came to love how at ease they were with one another... they have this sort of calm about them that must come from being together for so long. They make a great pair and I can't wait to photograph their wedding in August.

Here are a few of my favorites from their engagement session... Happy Monday!

We started at the beautiful Union Station in Los Angeles...

I loved all the color and lines at the station.

Damn, Mary is gorgeous! Just imagine her on her wedding day!

PS Mary is a jewelry designer... she made her own gorgeous earrings and necklace :-)

Our next stop was Silver Lake...

How amazing is this bar?! I found it on Yelp and as soon as I saw these booths right next to huge windows I had to shoot there...

PS this next one is my favorite of the day!

Hot!!!

After tearing ourselves away from that awesome bar we headed to the Griffith Observatory to catch the sunset.

It was sooooooo cold outside, but Mary was a trooper.

Thanks again Mary and Lorenzo. Can't wait for August!

{ nathan + karly are engaged! }

Karly and Nathan win the award for most easy going. When I suggested shooting at a park that I described as ghetto, they said sure. And when I asked Karly to hike down into a rock bed in heels, she said ok. Throughout the shoot they just laughed and had fun with each other... they really make a great pair.

Oh, and did I mention she's my friend's little sis and that I randomly ran into them in Vegas? That really could've come up to bite me, but they saw past my buzzed banter and scheduled a more formal wedding consultation back in California (whew!).

But wait, there's more! Their reception just happens to be at the same place I got married... and the big day is just a week after my 5 year anniversary :-) I can't wait to go back and take their wedding photos! Keep an eye out in October...

I just told them where to stand here... they naturally did the rest.

Hot...

They just look at each other and start laughing... which is pretty much my favorite :-)

And here's my favorite of the day:

I luuuuuuuuuved these trees!

{ the henne family }

Hello!

Last week I had the pleasure of running around the park with this awesome family! I love me some repeat clients and it was so cool to see the boys again... Tanner is quite the chatterbox these days and Jayden was a photo-taking champ! Add in some new doggies, some cool light, and smiles and you've got yourself a family photo shoot :-)

Happy Wednesday!

Mmmmm, symmetry makes me happy :-)

Believe it or not, these are puppies... and they're the exact same age.

Holy cuteness, Batman!

{ eddie + vanesa are married }

Eddie and Vanesa are two seriously amazing people. Their wedding day was full of love and hugs, lots of dancing and even some tears. I'm a lucky lady to have been there for it :-)

Here are some of my favorites from the day... happy Friday! Now I'm off to Joshua Tree to get my camp on :-)

My second shooter, Melissa and I agree: Vanesa is one of those beauties that wakes up gorgeous. Lucky.

After the ceremony we had 2 hours for portraits!!! And a lunch break! So we started in Downtown Fullerton...

I luuuuuuved this tree's shadow!

Yay green!

Then we went to this awesome spot for a more natural setting.... I love the burnt trees and all the gorgeous yellow flowers.

Vanesa is so gorgeous!

At the reception Eddie's sister surprised them with a mariachi band... it was so fun!

And, of course... details!!
