{ roman nicholas }

Yay! Roman is finally here! I've been looking forward to this shoot ever since Kirstie and Nick hired me to do their maternity shoot in December (click here to check it out).

They have an awesome home and I really could have shot there all day... but Roman wouldn't have it :-) He really put me to work, but it all worked out in the end. Be sure to watch the slideshow at the end of the post... there you'll find the cutest little grumpy face you've ever seen and Daddy's "I told you he was gonna pee on our bed" expression.

Let me know which photos you think should make it onto my website. Thanks!!

I love the colors they chose for Roman's room...

Baby cowlicks rule.

Poor baby... I accidentally bumped the bed while he was sleeping and he totally peed... my bad.

He was only happy to be swaddled from here on out...

Roman and The Dude (yup the dog's official name is The Dude!)

Awesome chair + awesome wall....

here's the slideshow:

{ baby alexis }

What better way to start off the new year than with a newborn session? Little Alexis was not only sweet and adorable, but a great little model too... especially after we discovered that she WAY prefers to sleep on her left side. (Oh! And did I mention she had the most perfect auburn hair without having to pay for it? Lucky).

Here are a few of my favorites from the day... be sure to leave a comment and let me know which ones you think should be on my website.

Happy Monday!!

Little Alexis loved her big bro, Ruben. Even sleeping on her right side, she was content to have him pat her back.

Either she likes me or she's gassy..... I think she likes me :-)

This blanket is the best! I love the color and pattern. It goes with her red bedroom set... cute!

BTW Alexis is the only baby that hasn't taken advantage of the fact that she's diaperless... if you know what I mean. Yay!

{ waiting for roman } Orange County Maternity Photographer

I have to say that I have been impatiently awaiting this photo shoot for a loooooong time. Seriously it seemed to take forever to get here.... and, if I'm being totally honest, I am NOT a super patient person when I get excited about something.

Kirstie contacted me a couple months ago and said she was looking for maternity photos... whoohoo! I love meeting first time parents. Their excitement and energy is so amazing to see and so fun to photograph. But then Kirstie really got me going when she said she wanted something a bit different (no hearts on the belly for her!)... she wanted something colorful and filled with texture and architecture... right up my alley!

So here you go... I had just as much fun (if not more) as I thought I would. Kirstie and Nick are an absolutely amazing couple and I can't wait to see them as Mommy and Daddy when little Roman is born in February (keep your eye out for his newborn photos!).

Happy Monday!

One of my favorites... testing out a new black and white conversion... you like?

One of my favorite walls...

My favorite of the day:

BTW, did I mention the Kirstie is probably the cutest/coolest/nicest mom-to-be? Ever?

Thanks for being my human light stand, Josh!

{ the touzard family, part 3 }

Every time I see this family my heart gets happy. I first met them last year when I took Rachelle's maternity portraits, and then again when Jazelle was born 3 months ago. Rachelle and Karl have nothing but love for their little girl, each other... and pictures. Lucky for me, I'm their photographer and I get to see them every 3 months till Jazzy is one. :-)

Can't wait for December when Jazzy turns 6 months old and makes both my heart and my camera happy again. Until then here's some adorableness from her 3 month shoot:

Rachelle's cousins had little ladies right around the time she did, so they got them all together for a quick photo. They are all soooooo gorgeous, huh?

I swear she could've stayed right here all night long... she was so content.

Can you believe this is their front yard? Beautiful home...

Jazelle's Auntie was over for a visit.

As long as there's no slobber involved she just loves her little niece. LOL.

One of my favorites from the day:

All time most gorgeous light. Ever. I love their yard!

Cats generally make me sneezy and miserable... so I don't really like them much. But, if I were ever going to like a cat, this one would be it. :-)

Rachelle and Karl give each other the most amazing looks... it makes capturing their family's moments so easy and special.

Mommy!

Num, num, num...
